Skull Deaths

The Press Hates Cars
Whenever you are looking into a paper it is never about the new cars or how cars are changing to save the environment but how they are constantly killing people. In most cases it is often the driver that is in the wrong despite it being blamed on the vehicle.
If you were to see two newspapers in a shop one with the front page headline CAR CRASH KILLS 5 PEOPLE or the headline to another with CAR SAVED MY LIFE there is no doubt that you would go for the paper that has the 5 deaths plastered on the front of it. But why the hell is this?
The main reason why this happens is because it gets readers. The really terrible thing is that the bad press brings in people to the newspaper whereas the good press is just not going to lure people in. The world is messed up which is the major reason why all of this is happening!
People will then go on to read into more and more details on how the people died and the press will only say that it was their fault if drink or drugs were involved. If they are not to blame the next thing to blame is the car itself blaming the poor safety features of the vehicle when they are fine. A lot of the time people just cannot be bothered to put their seatbelts on which means you get a nice taste of the windscreen if you have to brake suddenly or you crash.
Speeding is another cause of crashes and happens when some is going 70mph into someone coming around a corner. Instant death occurs most times this happens. The people driving the cars are to blame here and not the car manufacturers at all.
If you are seriously considering a new vehicle then look out for leasing vans.

Corpse in the Camera [A Lt. Mark Stoddard Mystery] $4.99 A New, Exciting Lt. Mark Stoddard Mystery. Mark Stoddard, Police Detective in the small Northern California town of Pomo, investigates two intriguing and baffling deaths. The first case opens when a brush clearance project reveals a crashed car in the middle of a berry patch, with the skeleton of its owner still inside. The remains, as Stoddard shortly discovers, belong to a man who vanished from the town without a trace during World War II, and apparently without leaving behind anyone who cared. Was it murder, or a simple traffic fatality? Stoddard is still scratching his head over that one when the curator of the town Historical Society’s museum is found in the museum’s storage area with a large dent in her skull. There’s no doubt about this one being murder. As events unfold, Stoddard begins to suspect that the deaths may be connected, even though they are separated by over sixty years. His suspicions become a certainty when an elderly acquaintance, who just happened to know both the photographer and the curator, is found in a welter of blood on the sun room rug. Why were these three people killed, and who killed them? Was it the woman who once posed for the local camera club, and sold herself on the side, or perhaps the curator’s husband, whose visits to the hairdresser involved more than a simple trim? Does an innocent and fluttery old lady, reminiscing about her youth in California’s Bay Area, know more than she is willing to admit? Does the local florist have a better motive than anyone suspects? Tracing a trail of smut photography from the locked trunk of a 1938 Packard through the local Seniors Center, to the home of a famous artist’s model, Stoddard finds himself walkingthrough a tangle of love and hatred as he searches for the solution. |

Devil Bones $2.9 Following her most successful book to date, Kathy Reichs — international number one bestselling author, forensic anthropologist, and producer of the Fox television hit Bones — returns to Charlotte, North Carolina, where Temperance Brennan encounters a deadly mix of voodoo, Santer a, and devil worship in her quest to identify two young victims. In a house under renovation, a plumber uncovers a cellar no one knew about, and makes a rather grisly discovery — a decapitated chicken, animal bones, and cauldrons containing beads, feathers, and other relics of religious ceremonies. In the center of the shrine, there is the skull of a teenage girl. Meanwhile, on a nearby lakeshore, the headless body of a teenage boy is found by a man walking his dog. Nothing is clear — neither when the deaths occurred, nor where. Was the skull brought to the cellar or was the girl murdered there? Why is the boy’s body remarkably well preserved? Led by a preacher turned politician, citizen vigilantes blame devil worshippers and Wiccans. They begin a witch hunt, intent on seeking revenge. Forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan — five-five, feisty, and forty-plus — is called in to investigate, and a complex and gripping tale unfolds in this, Kathy Reichs’s eleventh taut, always surprising, scientifically fascinating mystery. With a popular series on Fox — now in its third season and in full syndication — Kathy Reichs has established herself as the dominant talent in forensic mystery writing. Devil Bones features Reichs’s signature blend of forensic descriptions that chill to the bone (Entertainment Weekly) and the surprising plot twists that have made her books phenomenal bestsellers in the United States and around the world. |

Films Directed By Robert Fuest (Study Guide) $10.18 Purchase includes free access to book updates online and a free trial membership in the publisher’s book club where you can select from more than a million books without charge. Excerpt: Dr. Phibes Rises Again! (1972) was the second Dr. Phibes movie, a sequel to The Abominable Dr. Phibes. It was directed by Robert Fuest, and starred Vincent Price as Dr. Anton Phibes. The moon rises at a predestined angle and awakens the sleeping Dr. Phibes three years after the events of the previous movie. To his dismay, he finds that his house has been demolished and his papyrus scrolls stolen, the scrolls he needs to find the Pharaoh’s Tomb in Egypt, where the River of Life flows. After identifying the source of the papyrus theft, he packs and leaves for Egypt with his assistant Vulnavia – whose face displays no effects from the acid shower she received at the end of the previous film (although the character is now played by a different actress, Valli Kemp). His primary goal is the awakening of his dead wife, Victoria. The thieves of Phibes’ scrolls suffer an attrition problem as Inspectors Trout and Waverly chase Phibes across the world. The party is led by Beiderbeck (Robert Quarry, best known for playing Count Yorga). Although he looks young, he is several hundred years old and wants to find the River of Life in order to stay alive and be with his lover Diana (Fiona Lewis) forever. This time Phibes’ murders all have an Egyptian theme to them; for example, one character is sand-blasted to death. Other deaths include someone being stung to death by scorpions, being eaten by an eagle (in the original script impaled by a gold eagle in the same way a doctor in The Abominable Dr. Phibes was impaled by a golden unicorn), and a golden snake piercing someone’s skull. At the climax, Beiderbeck sacrifices his life in order to save Diana. The film ends with Phibes riding a raft down the River of Life with Victoria, while singing “Over the Rainbow”…. More: |

He was selected as an All-American at the end position in both 1921 and 1922. In December 1922, shortly after being named an All-American and while at the height of his popularity, Kirk suffered a fractured skull in an automobile accident, and died several days later at a hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan. His funeral was attended by the Governor of Michigan and many other dignitaries, and was reported in newspapers across the United States. Kirk was raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan and played football for three years for Ypsilanti High School. He was the only son of Gen. John P. Kirk, a prominent Ypsilanti attorney and former general in the Michigan National Guard. After graduating from high school, Kirk enrolled at Notre Dame. As a sophomore in 1919, he was a starter for the Notre Dame football team coached by the legendary Knute Rockne. He played end for the undefeated 1919 Fighting Irish team that also featured another Michiganian, George Gipp. The passing combination of Gipp at left halfback to Kirk at left end became one of Notre Dame’s greatest offensive weapons in 1919. In October 1919, The Fort Wayne News and Sentinel praised “the ability of Kirk in receiving passes and breaking away for long runs.” In early November 1919, Kirk drew attention for his work in Notre Dame’s win over Indiana. The Indianapolis Star praised the team’s end play: “The Irish wing men are wonderful performers. Either Kirk or Anderson can snag the ball out of the air on forward passes with great skill. Both are fast and wonderful defensive men. It was seldom in Saturday’s game that either was boxed. They broke up… More: |
